The signs are not subtle: Fire and black rain fall on a city that stood 6,000 years. But do not allow yourself to reduce it all to prophecy and symbolic logic. The flesh that burns is flesh the cries that rend heaven and earth are human cries and though all was foretold none of it was inevitable. All was the choice of men drunk on opposing delusions that end in the same fires. What awakens in my grief and rage remembers the felling of the ancient forests and I become again the hairy man who dwelled there. I cast my lot with the bird who shakes the tree of life, sending down new seeds to open, and with the serpent who rises from the waters. This world must bloom again.
The signs are not subtle , 42,000 people murdered in cold blood by the Mullahs, the people cry out for justice, accept the risk of death, they ask with one voice for our help, the women whose wombs were hacked out in police basements, the women raped before they were hanged, the children married to old men at the age of nine, these are the people of the Simurgh, not of Islam, And so we wring our hands at evil America, Ignore the voice of the people as it does not fit our narrative.
I understand your emotions Sean, and the mixed motives of the US and Israel, but for pity's sake listen to the actual people of Iran.
I don't disagree. "Opposing delusions that end in the same fire". My condemnation is of the brutality of all three murderous regimes. Being a citizen of only one of them it does take my focus. And most of the Iranian voices I am hearing are simultaneously celebrating the fall of the Islamic state, condemning the bombing, and fearing what slouches to be born.
I know you are always a voice of compassion Sean. I just see a lot of whataboutery going on, and even active support for Iran from the American left. Not my intention to hit you with friendly fire.

There is a lot of that indeed. And critique is always welcome, especially from minds I respect.
power in these words. Thank you.
yes grief and inner fires are burning, but the waters of our deep sadness help quench the fire and connect us all in our hearts feeling the oneness
